Menifee‘s Economic Development Team Recognized by State’s Leading Economic Development Group
The City of Menifee Economic Development Department was recently awarded three awards in the Economic Development Partnership, Promotions, and Programs categories from the premier statewide professional economic development organization - California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED). The winning entries were the “We. Are. Menifee.” promotional video, the public/private partnership of Mayor’s Roundtables, and the Menifee Monday Munch Program all put on by the Economic Development Department for the City of Menifee.
According to the association’s website, the Economic Development Partnership award “honors development projects between public and private sector that exemplify the spirit of partnership during 2017,” the Economic Development Promotions category “recognizes outstanding efforts and achievements in economic development advertising, marketing and promotion during 2017,” and the Economic Development Programs Category, “recognizes outstanding programs which have made a significant contribution to the field of economic development during 2017.”
The “We. Are. Menifee” video is a promotional video encompassing all of the exciting elements Menifee has to offer residents, visitors, and businesses.
The Mayor’s Roundtables are a unique event where members of the business community have the opportunity to intimately discuss issues and concerns with the Mayor of Menifee and key development staff aimed at improving processes that inhibit quality development in the City. The Menifee Munch Program, part of the Building Better Business (B3) Program, is held every second Monday at one of the local Menifee restaurants where a City presentation offers residents a chance to support a local business to engage with City officials and staff about City business.
“We are very proud that the City of Menifee is being recognized for the efforts in Economic Development,” said Economic Development Manager, Gina Gonzalez. “The City is continuously developing new platforms and programs to better connect to our residents, businesses, and visitors, and these awards are proof of these efforts.”
The California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) is the premier statewide professional economic development organization dedicated to advancing its members’ ability to achieve excellence in delivering economic development services to their communities and business clients. CALED’s membership consists of public and private organizations and individuals involved in economic development: the business of creating and retaining jobs.
